South Mountain High School offers a multitude of professional development options for our teachers. New Teacher Cadres are open to both new teachers and to all faculty members. Monthly professional development trainings are offered during the school day as well. Additionally, the Professional Learning Communities have staff development during the District Late Start Wednesdays. Further trainings for teachers are offered as the opportunities arise, such as Kids at Hope. Finally, South Mountain High School is fortunate to have EOS Education provide a wide variety of technology training on our campus on a bi-monthly basis.
The focus of professional development at South Mountain High School is to aid teachers in preparing every student for success in college, career, and life. Through our professional development efforts teachers strive to learn strategies and interventions that will provide all students with the best possible educational experience so they can reach their potential and have fulfilling and successful lives.
