North High has a long history of academic excellence and became an IB World School in 1985. The IB Program has produced over 200 National Merit Finalist and Commended students and has been named a “top” high school by Newsweek and U.S. News and World Report.
Students at North have many opportunities to achieve a well-rounded education, including participating in Student Government, MAP (Mustang Achievement Program), Pathway to Success, Achievement via Individual Determination (AVID), Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA), Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), culinary, visual and performing arts, JROTC, and a full, competitive sports program at the freshman, junior varsity and varsity levels.

Phoenix Union’s annual Spring Teacher Career Fair will be Saturday, March 4 at Metro Tech High School. The District is seeking teachers for the 2017-18 school year in all areas, but particularly in English as a Second Language, Math, Exceptional Student Services (special education) and Physical Science. Initial screening interviews are from 7:30 to 9 a.m., and the selection process runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Applicants should compete an online application prior to March 4 at www.phoenixunion.org/jobs and can schedule a screening interview prior to the March 4 Career Fair by calling the Talent Division at (602) 764-1519. The Foundation Scholarship fund was established to provide college scholarships to students of the Phoenix Union High School District who are pursuing a post-secondary education. ALL STUDENTS GRADUATING IN MAY, 2017 from a Phoenix Union high school who will be attending an Arizona post-secondary school (university, community college, or trade school in Arizona)in the Fall of 2017 and Spring of 2018 are eligible to apply for these scholarships. If you are selected for a scholarship you will be notified in April and the award will be released to the scholarship office of your college.
