"It's great to see the students engaged. The best part is they get to apply skills we are learning and working on in class, to real world work... and they get paid,” computer network technologies teacher Charles Renning said.
Other Metro Tech scholarship recipients are Luis Pena, Michelle To, Yamilla Martinez, Rosa Ortega, Angel Gomez, and Daniel Cruz.
First place was Rosa Ortega - looking at the effect of oils spills on photosynthesis by ocean plants. 2nd Place - Anthony Nieco - studied Wi-Fi signal blocking ability of different materials (Including his younger brother) 3rd Place - Evelyn Quintana - The San Andreas Fault
Over 500 students from all over the state competed in events that showcased various skills such as teaching, speaking, and writing.
Sponsored by Intel, Hermanas provided several students hands-on STEM activities designed to increase interest and awareness in STEM-related courses of study and careers among Latina women, who are an historically underrepresented group in these fields.
Metro Tech Weightlifting Team competed in the Arizona State High School Championships, February 3, 2018.
59 dynamic FBLA students traveled to ASU PolyTech Campus to compete.

“What this means is that our seniors have been in an A+ school for all four years,” Reynoso said. A formal celebration will take place at the school, May 9.
