Cosmetology includes the basic theory and practice of beauty culture in preparation for Arizona State Board of Cosmetology examination. Practical experience is given in hair styling, finger waving, hair cutting, shampooing, pressing, relaxing, facials, scalp treatments, hair tinting, bleaching and manicuring. In addition, related information concerning bacteriology, sanitation, sterilization hygiene, cosmetic chemistry, diseases of the skin, scalp and hair, personality development, professional ethics, salon management and Arizona law governing cosmetology is included in training.

Expect to learn:

  • Hair cutting and styling techniques
  • Hair coloring and chemical applications
  • Manicures, pedicures and acrylic nails
  • Facial treatments

  • Upon completion of the program students are eligible for the Arizona State Board of Cosmetology Licensure*
*To be eligible for licensing, student must have 1600 clock hours. This requires a special schedule:
Tuesday - Friday: 12:30 - 6:00
Saturdays: 8:00 - 5:00
